How to avoid the gap of rim lock when producing metal titanium frames?

In the production process of metal eyeglass frames, gap of rim lock is a common quality problem, especially when dealing with some metal titanium frames.
Recently, our customer customized a metal eyeglass frame and encountered the problem of gap of rim lock during the production process.
This article will share how we solved this problem and optimized the production process to ensure the high quality of metal glasses.

Problem Discovery
In the initial production stage, we followed the conventional production process.
First, we would weld the accessory ring, then weld and cut the rim lock, and then bend the nose bridge , front frame and end piece,
However, after the sample came out, we found that the problem of rim lock gap was very obvious. The reason is that this eyeglass frame uses a 600 base, and the end piece curving bend is very close to the rim lock position.
During the bending operation, the rim lock is easily pulled apart, resulting in a gap.


Solution: Adjust the production process
In order to avoid the problem of gap, our production department discussed and adjusted the process.
We decided to change the production process to: first cut the accessories and weld the frame, then curve the nose bridge, front frame and end piece,  and finally weld and cut the rim lock

Through this new process, we can ensure that the rim lock position is processed in the last link, thus avoiding the situation where the rim lock is pulled apart and successfully solving the problem of leaking seams.
