Eyewear Accessories Innovation: Spoon to Metal Temples
Inspiration for eyewear accessories often comes from some of the most mundane things around us, and this time, we picked up a simple spoon and turned it into a temple.
In our eyglasses factory, we’ve tried many things and have been learning and inventing all the time. The innovation of spoon-shaped temples is not only a creative process, but also a demonstration of our metal temple and eyewear accessories manufacturing technology.
The production process is as follows:
Step1: Measurement –
Temple length has a very strict length standard. So we first measure the whole temple, and then cut the front of the spoon according to the measurement. After cutting, the main body of the spoon becomes the blank for the temple.

We weld a tail piece at the back of the spoon, so that it can be smoothly welded to the front of the frame. The temperature and weld point must be strictly controlled during welding, so that the weld is not only firm, but also can’t affect the overall aesthetic feel of the temple. After that, we shooting acetate tips in , so that it can be worn comfortably.
Additional information: The surface finish of the spoon is not subjected to further polishing or complex machining processes, just barrel polishing, and then electroplating. This way, we can fully maintain the original material properties of the spoon, and at the same time get the same mirror-like finish as other metal eyewear accessories.
There are so many mundane things around us, and eyewear doesn’t have to be made of traditional materials such as titanium, metal or stainless steel. Only by redefining objects can these ordinary things be made into ingenious eyewear. Making spoon-shaped temples not only tests our eyewear factory’s engineering skills, but also gives more design ideas to brands and designers.
